About Dr. Vitaro

Dr. Nathan Vitaro, NMD completed his undergraduate education at Boston College in the premedical program obtaining a B.S. in Biology. During his college career, Dr. Vitaro focused on community service, working closely with adults and children with physical and mental challenges. During the same time, his sister who was studying to become a naturopathic physician exposed him to naturopathic medicine. Dr. Vitaro was immediately drawn to this unique medicine for its patient focused philosophy and natural therapeutics. He soon decided to redirect his career path from conventional medicine to integrative medicine. He went on to attend Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (http://www.scnm.edu) in Tempe, Arizona, one of four schools in the United States to confer 4 year medical degrees in naturopathic medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Vitaro was honored with the Daphne Blayden Award, a recognition of his academic achievement and commitment to naturopathic medicine.

As a naturopathic medical doctor (NMD), Dr. Vitaro is licensed as a primary care physician by the State of Arizona. He initially began private practice concentrating on pediatrics. Dr. Vitaro has since evolved his pediatric practice into a family practice and found that expanding care to all patients results in happier healthier families. He also has extensive experience in natural hormone replacement therapy for both women and men, having served as a national consultant for a local compounding pharmacy specializing in hormone prescriptions.

Dr. Vitaro resides in North Scottsdale with his wife and two young daughters.
